Employees in this role will serve as the first point of contact for IT problem resolutions for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA ESDMS) and will assist customers by researching technical issues, exploring answers, and providing information and alternative solutions. This position is based on-site at our Bossier City facility. This position is part-time and requires availability to work Monday and Tuesday mornings, plus 2-3 other shifts (average of 20-24 hours per week).As a highly qualified candidate, you have the ability to thrive in a highly structured environment and are able to efficiently perform root cause analysis to resolve customers' IT software, hardware, and network issues.A Day In the Life of A Computer Operator IIAs a Computer Operator II with GDIT you will have the opportunity to hone and develop your technical skills as you:Respond to incoming service calls and/or to self-service ticketing queues on behalf of our client to provide accurate and appropriate informationIdentify, evaluate, and prioritize end-user issues to ensure that inquiries are successfully resolvedUtilize troubleshooting techniques to resolve hardware, software, and network issuesDocument incident status and solutions in incident database toolsDiagnose, identify, isolate, and analyze problems utilizing historical database recordsAdhere to established levels of serviceAdhere to established customer service and documentation standards within required time framesAdhere to contact center scheduling during hours of operation (24 hours a day, 7 days a week).Perform clerical and/or administrative duties as assignedRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or G.E.D.One or more years of related customer service and/or help desk experienceAvailability to work Monday and Tuesday mornings, plus 2-3 other shifts (average of 20-24 hours per week)Louisiana residency within a 60 mile radius of our Bossier City facilityMust be willing to commute to our Bossier City facilityU.S. Citizenship required per federal contractMust be eligible to obtain a public trust clearancePreferred QualificationsAssociate's degree or equivalent in a related field of studyPrevious experience troubleshooting software and hardware issues (Windows and MAC O/S, internet systems, and networking)Previous experience working with a contact center management databasePrevious experience working with a ticketing systemApplying for a career in GDIT's Engagement Center is as easy as 1...2...3.
