Job Description Job Description Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team within a dynamic healthcare environment. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with extensive knowledge of nursing practices, management, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will oversee clinical operations, ensure high-quality resident care, and maintain compliance with healthcare standards such as HIPAA and Medicare regulations. The Director of Nursing will be responsible for fostering a compassionate environment while managing staff and ensuring efficient workflow across shifts. Duties Lead and supervise nursing staff, including nurse managers and direct care providers, ensuring effective shift management and staffing levels Develop, review, and update individualized care plans for residents in accordance with medical and regulatory standards Oversee documentation review, medical records management, and ensure accurate data entry into EMR/EHR systems Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain the confidentiality of all resident information Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate resident care across various settings such as assisted living, home health, or hospice care Monitor quality assurance programs and participate in audits related to resident care and documentation Manage resident's , ensuring their needs are met with dignity and respect Oversee MDS assessments to ensure proper reimbursement and compliance with Medicare guidelines Provide leadership in training staff on new policies, procedures, and regulatory updates Maintain up-to-date knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and care standards to guide clinical decision-making Facilitate communication between staff members, residents, families, and external agencies to promote transparency and trust Requirements Valid nursing license with current registration; RN licensure required Extensive experience in nursing administration within skilled nursing Proven management and supervising experience with strong leadership skills in nurse management roles Knowledge of Medicare regulations, MDS processes, care plans development, and documentation review procedures Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for medical records management Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance, medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and shift management practices Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining high standards of resident care Excellent communication skills to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams and interact professionally with residents’ families Ability to adapt to evolving healthcare regulations and implement necessary changes promptly This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on residents' lives while leading a dedicated team of healthcare professionals in a supportive environment.
