Job Description Job Description Physician in Toxicology - Overview: This full-time faculty role in Emergency Medicine emphasizes Medical Toxicology, encompassing clinical practice, consultations, research, and educational responsibilities. Candidates must be board-certified or eligible in Emergency Medicine and have completed fellowship training in Medical Toxicology. Duties include inpatient consultations, outpatient clinic management, poison center consultations, and mentoring within an esteemed academic medical environment that prioritizes patient care. The Department of Emergency Medicine is currently seeking applications for full-time faculty positions with a specialization in Medical Toxicology . We encourage applicants from all academic levels who are dedicated to providing outstanding patient care and advancing toxicology through clinical service, education, and research. We are looking for individuals who exemplify excellence, integrity, humility, and a focus on patient-centered care. Ideal candidates will hold board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine and have completed or are in the process of completing fellowship training in Medical Toxicology. A strong commitment to academic medicine, whether in teaching, research, or clinical practice, is highly valued. Primary Responsibilities Deliver clinical services in the emergency departments, including the adult Level I trauma center, the Nashville VA, and affiliated facilities. Participate in the Toxicology Consult Service , managing around 200 inpatient consultations each year across various hospitals. Engage in outpatient Toxicology Clinics , providing follow-up care and regional referrals. Offer consultation support to the Tennessee Poison Center , which receives over 52,000 calls annually from all 95 counties in Tennessee. Instruct and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students. Contribute to academic research and initiatives specific to toxicology, education, or clinical innovation. Qualifications Board-eligible or board-certified in Emergency Medicine. Completion of fellowship training in Medical Toxicology or equivalent experience. Interest or experience in academic medicine, including clinical operations, education, or research. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
