Will Accept a First-time traveler? Yes
Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a perm staff
Permanent address must be 50 miles away from facility
Patient Types:
Medical/Surgical/Telemetry; General surgery
Sepsis, DM, CHF, COPD, PNA, Cardiac dysrhythmias, ETOH/CIWA, IVDA, DVT/PE, etc
No hearts, brains, or transplants
Covid PPE:
Adequate PPE provided
Patient Ratios:
RN: Days - 1:5 with tech; 1:4 without tech; Nights 1:6 with tech; 1:5 without tech
CNA: Days 1:16; Nights 1:23
Required Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (preferred)
Skills required
Medication administration, Telemetry experience, Wound care, Continuous bladder irrigation, IV insertion skills, Cardiac drips (non-titrating), Oxygen administration, Central line management/care, Pre Post op care, NG tube placement and care, management of G-tubes
Support on the Unit:
Charge nurse: will take patient assignment
Phlebotomy? Yes, shared responsibility with RN
IV/VAT Team? Yes, for midline/central lines only
Resource Nurse: No
RT, 24/7
Hospitalist available, 24/7
OT, PT, ST
Remote Tele monitoring (RN will confirm tele tech readings once per shift)
Charting System/Equipment:
EMR: Meditech Expanse; paper charting should system go down
IV Pumps: Alaris
Medication dispensing: Pyxis
Floating:
Units: 2 West and 3 West

Orientation:
3 days hospital and 2 (12) hour days on unit
Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: Every other
Will work 4 days one week and 3 days the next week this is mandatory
Can we approve time off? Yes, up to 7 days
Will they be on call? If so, what is that schedule? No
Holiday Expectations: Required, traveler will work major holidays
